The Hidden House. Lagos. Portugal
The house is located on the slope of a cliff, on the ocean, in a natural area. The project had to take into account the main requirement of the local municipality: the house should be practically invisible, minimally change the local landscape and not stand out in the environment, since the hill on which it is located is clearly visible from the city.
The house is perfectly integrated into the landscape: from the side of the road it seems to be one-story, from the side of the ocean and the lower point of the city it is practically not visible at all. Thanks to the competent arrangement of volumes, following the topography of the site, we were able to achieve the effect of a natural height difference: terraces become a continuation of the landscape.
The architectural solution is based on the atrium structure.
Kerimov Architects
Kerimov Architects is an international–class architectural bureau founded by Shamsudin Kerimov and Ekaterina Kudinova in 2014. The company is the winner of the A' Design Award & Competition, Architecture MasterPrize, Best of Archello, Archnovation, finalist of the Architizer A+Awards.
Shamsudin Kerimov is a graduate of the Moscow Institute of Architecture (2011), a member of the Union of Moscow Architects (part of the International Union of Architects), a teacher of the Moscow Institute of Architecture from 2010 to 2014, a practicing architect since 2010. Even with a well-coordinated team of architects, designers and visualizers, Shamsudin takes an active part in every project of the bureau at all stages.
The co–founder is Ekaterina Kudinova, creative and art director. It is she who is responsible for the warmth of Kerimov Architects projects and does not release the project from the studio until the smallest detail is brought to the highest level.
