Omakase sushi restaurant SUSHI KOJI has a U-shaped sushi counter, above which is a tangerine-colored ceiling and a wavy Warlon shade. These effects accentuate the contrast with the black-based interior, creating a stage-like stately atmosphere.

Alternatively, the small counter room with bold wall art created by local craftsman and the private room in tangerine-colored space make for a multifaceted experience.

The big challenge was how to achieve the Japaneseness that the client sought while showing originality with local materials.

Many of the finishing, such as the wall made by layering black paint on jute and the wooden tiles for the toilet, are locally available at low prices, but the combination of materials that takes time and extra effort appear sensitive.
